If a person has blocked me in WhatsApp, can I write to him - briefly?
If someone has blocked you on WhatsApp, you will not be able to send them messages. This block is effective until the person chooses to unblock you.
If a person has blocked me in WhatsApp, can I write to him - in detail?
If you've been blocked by someone on WhatsApp, it significantly impacts your ability to communicate with them. When a user blocks another, several restrictions are implemented:
- Message Delivery: Any message you send will not be delivered to the recipient. Instead of showing a single checkmark (indicating that the message was sent), your messages will show two gray checkmarks if the person has read receipts turned off or one gray checkmark if they have them on. This indicates that the message was not successfully delivered.
- Profile and Status Updates: You won't be able to see the blocked user's profile picture, status updates, or any changes they make to their profile information. Similarly, you can't view their "Last Seen" or "Online" status.
- Calls: Both voice and video calls will not go through. You won't be able to reach the person this way either.
- Group Interactions: In group chats, the blocked user will still see your messages, but you won't receive any of theirs directly. Group notifications are the only way you might indirectly learn about their interactions within the group.
- No Notification: The blocked person won't receive any notification that they have been blocked by you. Conversely, you also won’t be notified if someone blocks you.
Given these restrictions, it is clear that attempting to write to a user who has blocked you will be futile. Your messages will not reach them, and there is no mechanism within WhatsApp to bypass this block. If you need to communicate with the person, you might consider reaching out through another platform or contacting them directly if possible.
